Job summary

Wasatch Labs in Utah is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience, basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems, and forklift certification is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, organization, and the ability to work independently are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of facilities maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, systems, and building infrastructure.
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating repairs and maintenance activities with outside contractors as directed.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures and participate in required training programs.
  • Conduct facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Assist with facility improvement, construction, and renovation projects as needed.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and documentation.
  • Change HVAC filters as required and assist in maintaining HVAC systems.
  • Maintain and service evaporative coolers.
  • Service and maintain the process water system, including daily inspections and completion of required logbooks.
  • Service and maintain steam generators, including daily monitoring and documentation of operating conditions.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks according to the established preventive maintenance schedule.
  • Assist with tank and scale calibrations.
  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently when required.
  • Respond to facility maintenance requests in a timely manner.
  • Support troubleshooting of basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

Working Conditions
  • Regular exposure to manufacturing, warehouse, and facility environments.
  • May require occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • May require standing, walking, bending, and climbing for extended periods.
  • Participation in an on-call or emergency response rotation may be required.
