Job summary

Atlas Disposal Industries is seeking a Front Load Driver in California. You will operate front load trucks for waste, recycling, and compost routes, conduct DVIRs, and maintain route efficiency with safety as priority.

Valid CDL with airbrake, 1 year CDL experience, and ability to pass drug screenings and background checks are required. This is a full-time on-site role with a morning shift and occasional weekend work.

Qualifications

• CDL with airbrake endorsement required.
• At least 1 year of CDL driving experience.
• Experience operating in congested parking lots/roadways.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate front load trucks to collect waste, recycling, and compost on assigned routes.
• Navigate high-traffic areas, driveways, and locations with limited clearance.
• Perform pre- and post-trip DVIRs and document findings.
• Follow routes, service containers, and maintain site cleanliness.
• Use tablet to track progress, stops, and notes.
• Report unsafe situations or issues to Supervisor/Dispatch.
• Attend trainings and collaborate with Dispatch for efficiency.
• Assist other drivers to meet customer needs.

Front Load Driver

As a Front Load Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe and efficient waste, recycling, and compost collection services. Responsibilities

• Operate heavy-duty front load trucks to collect waste, recycling, and compost containers along assigned routes.
• Safely navigate through high-traffic areas, congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and locations with limited overhead clearance.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and accurately complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR).
• Follow assigned routes, service containers, ensure proper placement, and maintain cleanliness at service locations.
• Utilize a computerized mobile tablet to track route progress, complete stops, and enter relevant notes and information.
• Promptly report unsafe situations, service issues, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to Supervisor or Dispatch.
• Participate in required training programs, briefings, and meetings.
• Collaborate with Dispatch and Supervisors to improve route efficiency and implement best practices.
• Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer needs and ensure timely service completion.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement.
• At least 1 year of recent experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving experience.
• Experience operating vehicles in congested parking lots and roadways.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to pass regular drug screenings, pre-employment physical, and background checks.

Compensation

$26.00 - $30.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 per hour safety bonus effective immediately upon hire. This is a full-time, hourly position with typical shifts of 10-11 hours per day, Monday through Friday starting at 3 a.m. Drivers are expected to work a Saturday approximately every three weeks.
