Job Title:

Front Load Driver

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Front Load Driver capable of operating refuse collection vehicles on pre-assigned and special routes. Our team of drivers is exceptional and the ideal candidate takes pride in safety, excellence, and skill.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to safely operate a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste
• Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse and dispose of trash at designated facilities
• Regularly deliver and empty large containers for our commercial customers
• Maneuver truck into and out of minimum clearance spaces using mirrors to back up
• Regularly open enclosure doors to access containers
• Roll 2-4 yard containers on castors weighing up to 600 pounds into position for emptying
• Ensure enclosures are free of loose trash before replacing containers
• Courteously interact with customers and the public along the route to answer questions or politely direct them to contact Customer Service or Sales Representative for additional information
• Notify supervisor of issues requiring management action
• Use a keymap and GPS to locate service addresses
• Follow safe operating practices, including policies and procedures, to ensure proper operation of the truck and the safety of others
• Maintain a clean truck and wash exterior weekly
• Clean truck daily, ensuring it is free of loose trash and the packer blade is free of waste
• Inspect truck (lift and inspect under the hood, walk around and check undercarriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires – use air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill)
• Use and operate technology and programs used by the company (tablets, computers, GPS systems, etc.)
• Complete route sheet, record mileage, fuel consumption, logbook (as required), vehicle condition reports, and other forms
• Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the supervisor
