Job summary

Gustavus Adolphus College is seeking a Front End Web Developer for the Marketing & Communications team. You will build and maintain Drupal-based experiences, ensure accessibility, and support SEO and analytics to improve campus and enrollment content.

Hybrid role with on-campus collaboration and remote development work; partnership with Gustavus Technology Services and editors across campus. Salary opportunities reflect experience and internal standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of front end development experience with Drupal 9 or 10.
• Experience in higher education or nonprofit environment preferred.
• Proven ability to own or contribute to an SEO program.
• Experience managing templates and workflows in a large CMS.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve Drupal-based website with custom themes.
• Provide templates, components and editorial training for non-technical editors.
• Coordinate with IT for security, hosting and performance.
• Own on-site SEO program including metadata and URL structure.
• Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility across digital properties.
• Maintain a shared frontend component library for consistency.
• Support GA4/GTAG tracking and data-driven optimization.
• Collaborate with marketing and design to implement brand standards.
