Work Hours

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Training Schedule: Initial training will take place Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, for approximately two months.

SUMMARY

This role supports jobs while in pre-production, focusing on the technical review of incoming quotes, procuring tooling and supporting the CSR team. Use Valor as an assistive tool. May be asked to join meetings as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on DFM and defect reduction with emphasis on tooling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform Front End Technical Review on incoming quotes.
  • Collaborate with CSR team to address customer questions or issues.
  • Review customer provided drawings and data files to check for suitability and operating steps that influence cost.
  • Order Stencils, SMT carriers, and other tooling upon request and maintain tooling log.
  • Modify production tooling as needed.
  • Develop recommendations on penalization and tooling.
  • Clearly and concisely reporting findings and recommendations back to the CSR team.
  • Maintains communication with Engineering team regarding issues with upcoming jobs.
  • Research past jobs and provide defect reports for re-builds.
  • Support NPI activities as requested (BOM loads, order tooling and 3D print tooling upon request).
  • Provide training materials and lessons to other Front End Technical Supporters, both locally and globally.
  • Participate in inter-departmental meetings as a SME, focusing on DFM and defect reduction with an emphasis on tooling.
  • Utilize DFM assistive software such as Valor to complete Front End Technical Reviews and supplying customers with DFM reports.
  • Follow appropriate quality policies and procedures.
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Must be a positive and dependable team member, adaptive & supportive of change. Provide input to problem solving process and possess good communication skills.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and environment.
  • The work performed in this job can only be done on site; therefore, attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's degree or 2 years’ experience on SMT Equipment or Machine Programming; or equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Experience with MS Office required.
  • The ability to read technical drawings and work with customer-provided data is an essential skill in this role.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and telephone.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • Must successfully complete the Milwaukee Electronics Component Identification course (in-house training provided).
  • Must successfully complete the IPC-A-610 Workmanship Standard Awareness course (in-house training provided).
  • Must comply with ITAR regulations as Milwaukee Electronics is a DDTC Registered Company.

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to use hands to point, handle, or feel & reach with hands & arms; frequently is required to stand, sit, & talk or hear; occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds & occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
