Job summary

Maersk in Charlotte is seeking a Solutions Design Engineer to perform data analysis, develop workflows, and craft initial warehouse and distribution concepts for new and existing clients. The role involves front-end concepting from data to layout, costing, presentations, and RFP support, with direct production of layouts, models, estimates, and proposal content.

You will join the Engineering Design Team to publish final designs including CAD drawings and modeling outputs.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's in industrial engineering and 3–5 years in warehousing/distribution.
• Experience with automation and solution design is preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD for modeling and proposals.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze order data, inventory data, and SKU profiles to support facility layout and solution development
• Provide productivity, capacity, and space estimates for RFPs and business development
• Lead front-end concepting: layout development, automation ideation, and high-level modeling
• Create client presentations to support engineering recommendations
• Conduct feasibility studies to determine ROI on proposed solutions
• Collaborate with operations, vendors, and integrators to evaluate approaches
