Job summary

carsales is expanding its Retail product engineering team, building features end to end on React or Angular with TypeScript, backed by Node.js and .NET services. You’ll collaborate with product and design, write tests, and contribute to engineering best practices in a hybrid Australian workplace.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial experience building product features in React or Angular with TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming APIs with Node.js.
• Experience with back-end services in C#/.NET or Java, and the appetite to work in our .NET services.
• A clear problem-solving approach and good testing habits, using tools such as Jest, Vitest or Playwright.
• Inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours: we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

About the Retail team

In the Retail team, we build the services and experiences behind the buying and selling journey on one of Australia’s largest automotive marketplaces. We’re a team of product engineers who own features end to end, from the interface through to the services behind it.

This is a product engineering role with a front-end focus. You’ll spend most of your time building features in React or Angular with TypeScript and Node.js, and you’ll work regularly with our .NET services. It isn’t a design-system or UI-specialist role.
