SharkNinja in Needham, MA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to help shape the Corded/Cordless Products roadmap. You’ll be embedded in early-stage innovation, turning ambiguous consumer problems into working prototypes and product decisions.

You’ll work across mechanical design, sensors, software, and batteries, prototyping to learn and validate ideas before full development. Strong communication and hands-on skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or closely related field.
• 2-4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or product design.
• Hands-on experience designing electromechanical products in a product development environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo.
• Experience with plastic part design, including injection-molded, silicone, and rubber components.
• Comfortable in the lab: prototyping, tests, reporting findings, and determining next steps.
• Strong communicator — you can sketch an idea on a whiteboard and defend it in an engineering review.

Responsibilities

• Drive the front-end technology and feasibility roadmap for Corded/Cordless Products, collaborating across engineering, industrial design, and cross-functional teams.
• Build proof-of-concept rigs and functional prototypes to stress-test ideas early.
• Work across the full system: mechanical design, sensors, software, batteries, connectivity.
• Communicate ideas rapidly through sketching, CAD layouts, 3D models, and physical prototypes.
• Run design and engineering studies — solo and in teams — with the consumer experience as the north star.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a team culture that treats failure as signal.
• Stay close to IP development, identifying novel and inventive solutions with R&D.
