Job summary

Food Lion in Washington, NC is hiring a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and engage customers at the front end. You will greet customers by name when possible, maintain a neat and organized front end area, and support cash handling and basic accounting duties.

As part of the Front End team, you will learn multiple tasks, operate the cash register, and uphold service standards while complying with company guidelines and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Effective communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
• Greet each customer and use name whenever possible
• Ensure front end operations are accurate and timely
• Maintain knowledge of front end procedures including cash reports and deposits
• Ensure front end area is neat and presentable
• Operate cash register and related front end accounting services
• Perform duties as scheduled or as needed to support service standards
