Job summary

Belk, Inc. & Belk eCommerce LLC. seeks a Manager, IT Front-End Engineering to lead a team building and refining the front-end of Belk’s e-commerce platform.

You will provide technical leadership, mentorship and strategic direction to deliver highly performant, scalable user experiences from concept to deployment. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Required.
• 10+ years experience with development and delivery of solutions.
• Experience managing IT projects and project teams utilizing industry standard SDLC methodologies.
• Experience managing and leading an IT team, developing and managing operational and project related budgets.
• Retail industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical guidance on architecture and design for the front-end codebase, emphasizing best practices in Next.js and React.
• Lead the team in agile/scrum ceremonies, facilitate sprint planning, and remove impediments to ensure smooth and predictable delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and other engineering leaders to define the front-end roadmap and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Oversee the implementation and management of customer-facing analytics and marketing tags using Tealium Tag Management.
• Conducts design and code reviews and acts as gatekeeper of high quality
• Take responsibility for the definition, documentation, and successful completion of enhancements and defect remediation
• Executes and coordinates quality assurance testing and acts as gatekeeper of high quality. Coordinates and manages small projects, enhancements, and defect remediation
• Builds effective relationships between IT, business users, and internal/external service providers
• Lead, coach, and manage a team of front-end engineers, fostering their professional and technical growth.
• Provides support and guidance as required, in line with individuals’ abilities
• Advises individuals on career paths, and encourage pro-active development of skills and capabilities
• Sets performance targets, and monitors progress against agreed quality and performance criteria
• Reviews and monitors resource work load
