Job summary

Ridleys-Family-Markets-Inc is seeking a Courtesy Clerk to support customer service at the front end of the store. You will engage with guests, maintain a friendly environment, and assist with stocking, cart retrieval, and general housekeeping to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

The role emphasizes safe handling of carts, prompt bagging of purchases, and adherence to all store policies. Minimum age requirements and tobacco/alcohol regulations apply where applicable.

Qualifications

• No licenses required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Ability to write, speak, hear, and understand communicated requests.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relations with friendly and courteous behavior.
• Promote morale and open communication within the department and store.
• Maintain good working relationships with other department managers to improve sales.
• Follow company policies, programs, and the Code of Conduct.
• Set professional examples for other team members to follow.
• Bag guests’ purchases promptly and carry them to their cars safely.
• Fill bag slots and ensure front-end supplies are available.
• Assist with price checks and go-backs.
• Assist with general housekeeping and sweep duties as assigned.
• Keep parking lot clear of carts and return them to proper locations; wipe down kids carts.
• Do not accept tips; if pressed, return money to the service desk (NV exception).
