Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a Front-End Developer with a strong concentration in Section 508 accessibility to ensure interfaces are fully usable by individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities include accessible front-end design, testing with JAWS, audits, and collaboration with UX/UI. You will integrate automated checks (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse) into CI/CD while adhering to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards and ARIA practices. TS/SCI clearance and U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• Proven experience building accessible front-end applications.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA, and ARIA practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain accessible front-end components and UIs conforming to Section 508 and WCAG AA.
• Perform accessibility testing with JAWS and other assistive tech; remediate keyboard navigation and focus issues.
• Conduct audits and produce test reports to support compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, and product owners to embed accessibility by design in early stages.
• Integrate automated accessibility tests (axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse) into CI/CD pipelines.
