D2 Consulting is seeking a New Front-end Data Application Engineer in Springfield, VA. This role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and focuses on building data-driven front-end applications for NGA.

You will work with React/TypeScript, Next.js, and collaborate with data engineers to deliver high-quality UI for mission users. Responsibilities include developing dashboards and dashboards components, optimizing performance, and enabling AI-enabled workflows within secure environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and 4+ years of frontend experience.
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks.
• Familiarity with Next.js or similar full-stack frontend frameworks.

New Front-end Data Application Engineer Springfield, VA Apply **ACTIVE TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED** We're building modern, data-driven applications that support mission users across the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) environment. This role focuses on creating high-quality front-end experiences using React or similar JavaScript libraries and Next.JS or similar frameworks. You'll work closely with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to bring structured data into clean, performant, and intuitive interfaces that directly support operational decision-making. There are also active opportunities to integrate AI into user workflows from enhancing data exploration to automating insight generation. If you're motivated to apply AI in IC environments that are actively looking to adopt it, this is a strong place to do that.

What You'll Do: Build Mission-Focused Data Applications

• Develop responsive web applications using React, Next.js, or similar frameworks
• Create reusable components for dashboards, charts, and analytical workflows
• Design interfaces that make complex and enterprise datasets easy to navigate Work Across the Data Stack
• Collaborate with data engineers to understand schemas, pipelines, and data models (e.g., SQL Server, Data Vault, or similar)
• Shape and transform data as needed for effective presentation in the UI Contribute to AI-Enabled Workflows

• Work with teams exploring applied AI use cases within IC mission systems Improve Performance and Usability

• Bachelor's Degree
• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and a modern framework such as React, Vue, or Angular
• Familiarity with Next.js or similar full-stack frontend frameworks
• Experience building applications with dynamic or data-intensive interfaces
• Experience with BI platforms for dashboard awareness
• Working knowledge of SQL or similar query languages
• Experience working in U.S. Government, DoD, or Intelligence Community environments, or similar regulated environments
• Familiarity with secure development practices and role-based data access patterns
• Focus on usability, performance, and clarity
• Ability to collaborate across frontend, backend, and data teams
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills Desired Skills Nice to Have Additional Experience
• Experience supporting NGA
• Cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Lambda, Glue) or similar
• Data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, Recharts, or equivalent

• Exposure to applied AI tools, frameworks, or integrations in production environments

• Compensation is unique to each candidate and relative to the skills and experience they bring to the position. The salary range for this position is typically $140-160k. This does not guarantee a specific salary as compensation is based upon multiple factors such as education, experience, certifications, and other requirements, and may fall outside of the above-stated range.
