Job summary

Broulim’s ACE Hardware in Idaho is seeking a detail-oriented Checker to join our front-end team. You will scan items, bag groceries, and process payments while delivering friendly service.

You should be comfortable standing for extended periods, handling cash and card payments, assisting customers with store policies, and helping keep the checkout area clean and organized. This is a team-oriented role at a locally owned retailer offering applicable flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment is preferred but not required.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with a smile and assist them with scanning and bagging items at the checkout counter.
• Ensure accuracy in scanning items, paying attention to prices and product codes.
• Process various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and electronic payments, using a POS system.
• Provide assistance and information to customers regarding store policies, promotions, and products.
• Handle returns and exchanges according to store policies, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area, including cleaning conveyor belts, scanners, and bagging stations.
