Job summary

Clarks Market Norwood, CO is seeking a part-time Front-End Associate / Cashier to provide friendly service and accurate checkout processing. You will greet customers, assist with locating products, and handle payments efficiently at the register.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean checkout area, bagging groceries, restocking supplies, and supporting other front-end tasks as needed. Schedule may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Previous cashier or retail experience is a plus but not required.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout area.
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
• Assist customers with locating products within the store when needed.
• Accurately process cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payment.
• Ensure the register drawer is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, and change to customers accurately.
• Verify the price of items and ensure correct pricing is applied.
• Scan items accurately and handle coupons, discounts, and promotions according to store policies.
• Bag groceries efficiently and in a manner that prevents damage.
• Assist customers with loading groceries into carts.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and free of clutter.
• Restock bags, register supplies, and other front-end items as needed.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with other front-end associates to ensure efficient store operations.
• Assist with training new cashiers as needed.
• Support other store departments during peak times or as directed by the supervisor.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, customer service, and safety.
• Comply with state and federal regulations regarding sale of restricted items such as alcohol and tobacco.
