Job summary

VONS is seeking a Front-End Team Member to support a smooth checkout experience for customers. You will scan items, handle transactions, bag groceries, and keep the front end orderly while staying engaged in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes friendly service, attention to pricing and order accuracy, and adaptability to changing customer flow throughout shifts. Training is provided and weekend/evening availability is often required.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ or 18+ depending on local/state requirements.
• Completion of cashier/front-end training on hire.
• Basic math and clear communication skills required.
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Scan items and bag groceries, assist customers at checkout.
• Handle cash, card and digital payments accurately.
• Keep checkout area organized and clean throughout shift.
• Restock supplies and assist with cart retrieval as needed.
• Respond to pricing, transaction or service questions promptly.
