Job summary

Safeway in Alaska is hiring a Front-End Team Member to provide a smooth checkout experience and friendly customer service. You will scan items, handle transactions, bag groceries, and help keep the front end organized and welcoming.

Responsibilities include balancing cash, assisting shoppers, stocking supplies, and maintaining the checkout area throughout shift changes. Prior customer service is a plus, with flexible scheduling across mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on state)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training on hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays
• Customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Operate checkout, scan items, bag groceries, and assist customers
• Handle transactions and payments accurately
• Keep front-end area clean, organized, and stocked
• Assist with cart retrieval, stocking, and general front-end upkeep
• Maintain awareness of pricing, transactions, and customer questions
• Follow store procedures and adapt to changing priorities during shifts
