Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking a friendly Cashier to efficiently process customer transactions at the front registers. You will maintain cash control, assist customers, and uphold store assets with a positive, energetic demeanor.

The role emphasizes customer service, accuracy, and adherence to Front End procedures in a fast-paced environment. Wage is posted and benefits apply for eligible team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 1–2 years grocery front-end experience preferred.
• Experience in natural foods industry is a plus.
• Must maintain the highest level of customer service.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Able to multitask in a high-volume retail environment.
• Willing to work varied hours/days.

Responsibilities

• Walks the store prior to each shift to ensure awareness of promotional and sale items.
• Computes bill, itemized lists, and tickets showing amount due.
• Receives payment by cash, check, credit cards, gift cards, or automatic debits.
• Issues receipts, refunds, credits, rain checks or change due to customers.
• Operates cash register by passing price coded items across electronic scanner to record price, enter in PLU or UPC.
• Greets customers entering store and responds promptly to customer needs.
• Maintains clean and orderly checkout areas and make sure no personnel items are in the area.
• Issues coupons and rain checks.
• Other duties as assigned.
