Job summary

Food Lion in Beaufort, SC is seeking a Front End Associate to deliver fast, friendly service at the checkout and in the store, supporting the Customer Service Manager and keeping the front end neat and efficient. You will greet customers, handle cashier transactions, bag groceries, maintain accuracy with pricing, and follow cash handling procedures.

The role requires effective communication, reliability and the ability to work with a team.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to learn multiple tasks and handle cashier responsibilities.
Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience
Greet each customer and uses his or her name whenever possible
Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and bagging items for ease of bagging
Scan customers' order and handle the payment transaction, per standard practice
Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control
Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take the customer's order to their car
Maintain neat and clean presentation of front end area and wear Food Lion uniform with name badge
