Job summary

Tektora Limited is seeking a Front End Developer / 508 Compliance Specialist in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role combines front-end engineering with hands-on accessibility testing to ensure WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA compliance across interfaces.

The ideal candidate holds an active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph and will work in a cross-functional Agile team. Hybrid work arrangement allows up to three days remote per week.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is required.
• Hands-on experience testing with JAWS and other assistive technologies.
• Strong knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2 (A/AA) and ARIA practices.
• Experience with semantic HTML, accessible forms, keyboard navigation, and focus management.
• Proficient in accessibility testing/auditing tools such as axe DevTools, WAVE, Pa11y and Lighthouse.
• Experience with Git, Jira and Confluence in an Agile environment.
• Experience producing VPATs and Accessibility Conformance Reports for reviews.
• Integrating automated accessibility checks into CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
• Cypress or similar tooling for automated UI/accessibility tests.
• Cloud-based architecture (AWS) and federal agency reporting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end components conforming to Section 508 and WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA.
• Perform comprehensive accessibility testing using screen readers and automated tools.
• Identify and remediate issues across keyboard navigation, ARIA, and color contrast.
• Conduct manual and automated accessibility audits and document findings.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, and product owners to embed accessibility by design.
• Provide guidance on accessible design patterns to the team.
• Integrate accessibility checks into the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate accessibility requirements to stakeholders.
