Job summary

VSP Vision in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking a part-time Optical Assistant to support patients, the Doctor, and the Office Manager, ensuring smooth patient flow and excellent service.

You will greet customers, explain pricing, verify insurance, check-in and pretest patients, and assist with eyewear dispensing. The role emphasizes accuracy, caring communication, and a team-focused, patient-first approach in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to ask appropriate and relevant questions to identify patient needs.
• Ability to listen, process transactions and interact with patients simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
