Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

The role you’ll contribute:

The Front Desk Supervisor oversees greeting, instructing, directing, and scheduling patients and visitors. Acts as a liaison between patients and medical support staff.

The value you’ll bring to the team:
  • Oversees file clerks, receptionists, referral coordinators, and appointment schedulers.
  • Keeps front office staff updated on insurance and policy changes.
  • Creates and posts the monthly schedule for front office staff by the third week of each month.
  • Secures coverage for the front desk during staff vacations and absences.
  • Ensures daily charges are entered when Data/Charge Entry staff are unavailable.
  • Responds to weekly memos and clears faxes daily.
  • Handles copying of charts for medical records requests.
  • Reports potential issues to the Office Manager to ensure smooth operations.
  • Greets patients and visitors courteously and promptly.
  • Answers phones courteously before the third ring, identifying the practice and self by name.
  • Takes accurate messages including time, date, and initials.
  • Answers non-clinical questions and routes other calls appropriately.
  • Uses the telephone system correctly according to guidelines.
  • Connects and disconnects answering service as needed, providing necessary information.
  • Annotates patient arrivals, no-shows, and cancellations correctly in the Medic system and charts.
  • Enters and updates patient demographics and schedules appointments following policies.
Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with computers.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 1+ year of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding experience.
