Job summary

Gold's Gym Washington is looking for a Service Motivator in Portland, OR. You will welcome members and guests, guide them toward memberships and club services, and provide a memorable experience during every shift. Full training is provided to prepare you for this important front-line role.

Responsibilities include greeting members, processing check-ins, leading club tours, enrolling members, answering questions, and supporting daily club operations with a positive, energetic attitude.

Qualifications

• Process transactions and handle basic account questions.
• Log maintenance needs and report safety concerns to management.

Position Overview

As a Service Motivator, you are the first person every member and guest meets, and you set the tone for their entire visit. Your role is to create memorable experiences and guide guests toward joining the gym, and both are expected every shift. We provide full training, and many of our managers began their careers in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Member Experience and Growth

• Greet every member by first name and every guest with a smile


• Maintain front desk security by making sure every member and guest is checked in


• Make every member and guest experience memorable


• Answer phone calls and questions about the club and services


• Lead tours and help guests choose the membership that best fits their goals


• Enroll new members and introduce personal training and other club services


• Follow up with guests after their visits

Club Operations

• Conduct regular walk-throughs to keep the club clean, organized, and equipment ready.


• Complete shift procedures and handoffs


• Process retail and membership transactions


• Assist members with account and billing questions, escalating issues to management as needed


• Log maintenance needs and report safety concerns or incidents to management


• Support additional duties as needed

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits

• $16.80 - $18.00 per hour, based on experience

Work Environment

You’ll be on your feet for the entire shift and must be comfortable with that. This role also requires moving throughout the club and lifting up to 25 lbs. The gym is an active, high-energy environment with music and equipment noise..
