Dunbar Security Solutions in Harmans, MD is seeking a Part-Time Front Desk Security Officer to provide welcoming front desk coverage, monitor entrances, and assist visitors. The role requires flexibility to work either Friday to Sunday shift, with 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, depending on scheduling needs.

You will verify access, record visitor information, and respond to inquiries with courteous professionalism.

Qualifications

• Active Maryland security guard certification (guard card) or eligibility to obtain the Maryland unarmed security certification.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Welcome visitors, guests, and staff with a courteous, approachable presence
• Check entry points and confirm authorization before allowing access
• Record visitor information, distribute badges, and verify appointments or service arrangements
• Answer general inquiries, provide directions and parking information, and connect visitors with the appropriate staff
• Watch for unusual behavior, security concerns, or unsafe conditions around entrances and common areas
• Use assigned cameras, alarm systems, and communication equipment to monitor activity
• Provide considerate assistance during sensitive services and busy periods
• Apply facility rules and procedures consistently, professionally, and with respect for privacy
• Assist with emergency response procedures for medical incidents, disturbances, or fire alarms
• Prepare complete shift notes, visitor records, and incident documentation
• Coordinate with other officers and supervisors to maintain an orderly environment
• Keep the front desk and work area clean and organized
• Perform other related duties as assigned
