Job summary

Position Summary

The Front Desk Safety Associate leads safety initiatives for the organization, ensuring the well-being of residents, staff, and visitors. This role develops and implements trauma-informed safety plans, monitors building activity, and provides leadership and coordination for safety operations. The Safety Officer serves as a resource and liaison for staff, contract security, and emergency responders, contributing to a safe and supportive environment for all occupants.

Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Establish and implement trauma-informed safety strategies and plans of action to mitigate risks to residents, staff, and visitors. Communicate safety plans to all relevant personnel and monitor effectiveness.
  • Check in and out all individuals entering the building. Monitor security cameras and building activity to identify potential risks and reduce emergency incidents.
  • Complete Safety Zone reports for all incidents and actively follow up to ensure mitigation and access to care for residents.
  • Intercede in incidents when requested, provide directives to contract security personnel, and coordinate cost-effective security measures to address risks and liabilities. Interact with emergency responders as needed.
  • Build ongoing relationships with residents, assist with access to healthcare, behavioral health, substance use treatment, and other mainstream resources.
  • Participate in eviction prevention and coordinate referrals to internal and external programs.
  • Maintain thorough and timely records of clinical assessments, interventions, and ongoing client contact. Collaborate with other teams and service providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Job Competencies
  • Education
    • High school diploma or GED required; additional training in mental health preferred.
  • Experience

  • Experience in case management, peer support, housing counseling, or security operations within social services preferred.
  • Experience working with homeless or underserved populations preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and application in safety planning.
  • Strong ability to assess, respond, and mitigate safety risks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and direct contract security personnel effectively.
  • Strong observational, documentation, and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and provide supportive engagement with residents.
  • Familiarity with collaborating with internal and external programs to ensure continuity of care.
  • Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented.
Department Overview & Requirements

Based at Stout Street Lofts at 2180 Stout Street, Denver CO. Working Monday - Friday from 8am - 4pm.
