Position Summary The Maintenance Technician will perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance duties involving inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair within all CCH commercial buildings, while also becoming familiar with the large diversity of systems and practices within the department.

Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties involved in the inspection, diagnosis, troubleshooting, maintenance, installation, testing, monitoring, repair and servicing of equipment, components, building facilities, fleet vehicles, and any other items associated with the commercial facilities of CCH.

Identifies and implements effective courses of action to complete a diversity of daily assigned work tasks.

Ensures timely and accurate completion of company work orders, active and preventative maintenance tasks, maintaining detailed record/log of all actions.

Coordinates work assignments with other teammates or departments, as needed.

Communicates with team, maintenance manager and/or all other invested parties on the status of the work in progress and/or completed.

Operates necessary manual and electric tools and equipment . Inventories chemicals and supplies.

Maintains the facilities storage area/shop area in a neat and organized fashion.

Ensures the consistent application of OSHA safety standards ( ie - hazardous materials, PPE, confined space entry, fire & emergency planning, lockout/tagout, etc.)

Assists in keeping the common areas of the CCH commercial buildings in presentable fashion, including but not limited to items such as trash removal and custodial duties .

Provides seasonal de-icing and removal of snow from walks, common areas and parking lot areas for the safety of all clients, employees and visitors.

Provides care and maintenance to landscaped building areas including flowers beds, shrubs, trees, grass, weed control, and any other landscaping projects.

Operates and inspects CCH vehicles for transit to facilities for their respective duties/assignments.

Reports unusual and/or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property and/or individuals on site to the Maintenance Manager.

Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.

Ensure timely & accurate use of all company systems as required while maintaining complete up-to-date records and any future upgrades as directed.

Perform s other job duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Job Competencies

High school diploma or equivalent education required .

Previous hands-on maintenance experience highly preferred, especially in a medical or hospital setting.

Basic knowledge, skill and ability to comply with OSHA safety standards.

Knowledge of basic principles, methods, techniques, tools, equipment and machinery commonly used in the field.

A working understanding of ordinances and regulations and safety practices pertaining to the trade .

Understanding of issues related to homelessness including common physical & mental health conditions, recovery-oriented, evidence-based interventions, complexities within provided services, and trauma-informed care .

Collaborates cross-departmentally with Coalition staff to grow & contribute to the success of program objectives , culture, & a positive working environment .

Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships that motivate, guide, and/or reinforce the performance of others toward goal accomplishments.

Approaches tasks with thoroughness and consistency and holds value for precision and thoughtful review of work to ensure strong outcomes.

Must be able to communicate information clearly and effectively through multiple mediums to diverse audiences.

Must be able to remain calm, think clearly, and apply sound judgement in high-pressure situations.

Must be able to access and interpret information from computer screens and printed materials.

Must be able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with respective stakeholders.

Must be able to adhere to process protocol.

Department Overview & Requirements

Fort Lyon Supportive Residential Community is designed to provide effective and comprehensive services to those who are homeless or at at-risk of homelessness in an effort to end their cycle of homelessness and promote health, wellbeing and active citizenship . These supports include direct access to housing with enhanced services including education, vocation and job training opportunities, linkage to co-occurring behavior health and primary health care, acquisition of income, benefits and entitlements . The program staff works as a team to ensure continuity of care .

Working Conditions

Works on-site primarily in indoor/ outdoor environment s .

Variable hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call crisis response , may be required .

Frequent interpersonal interaction, in addition to weekly meetings and trips out of the office.

May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noxious fumes, excessive noise, and bugs/pests.

May be exposed to direct and vicarious trauma including escalated behavior, substance use, death, and mental health disorders.

Travel to other sites within Colorado may be required as business dictates.

Business operations may continue in various weather conditions, including snow, extreme cold, hot, and other potentially severe conditions.
