Qualifications: High School Diploma. 2 years experience in a medical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensuring the office/zone is prepared to receive patients by turning on lights, unlocking front doors, and ensuring appropriate sign-in sheets are placed in clipboards on the front desk counter.
  2. Greeting patients upon arrival with a smile, introducing yourself, and welcoming new patients to our practice.
  3. Informing patients of any delays in clinic/wait times.
  4. Providing patients with the intake tablet and instructions on how to use it.
  5. Assisting patients having difficulty using the tablet.
  6. Ensuring patients have completed all required intake information.
  7. Obtaining and verifying that the patient’s photo ID and insurance cards match the information in the Athena system. Scanning new insurance cards and emailing updates to the Benefit Department.
  8. Verifying a valid authorization is present in the patient’s Athena account.
  9. Ensuring insurance benefits have been verified within the past 90 days.
  10. Collecting co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
  11. Informing patients of the credit card on file process and obtaining signed agreements.
  12. Starting the check-in process in Athena.
  13. Printing financial agreements or advanced beneficiary notices and obtaining patient signatures.
  14. Uploading outside patient imaging CDs into Medview PAC system.
  15. Preparing paperwork for the next day’s clinic.
  16. Scheduling follow-up appointments for patients.
  17. Completing end-of-day batches.
  18. Processing disability form payments as required.
  19. Scanning daily batches and forwarding documents for scanning to Patient Records.
  20. Ensuring clinics run smoothly by reporting issues to Zone Lead or Supervisor.
  21. Performing all other duties as assigned.
