Qualifications: High School Diploma. 2 years experience in a medical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the office/zone is prepared to receive patients by turning on lights, unlocking front doors, and ensuring appropriate sign-in sheets are placed in clipboards on the front desk counter.
- Greeting patients upon arrival with a smile, introducing yourself, and welcoming new patients to our practice.
- Informing patients of any delays in clinic/wait times.
- Providing patients with the intake tablet and instructions on how to use it.
- Assisting patients having difficulty using the tablet.
- Ensuring patients have completed all required intake information.
- Obtaining and verifying that the patient’s photo ID and insurance cards match the information in the Athena system. Scanning new insurance cards and emailing updates to the Benefit Department.
- Verifying a valid authorization is present in the patient’s Athena account.
- Ensuring insurance benefits have been verified within the past 90 days.
- Collecting co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, and outstanding balances.
- Informing patients of the credit card on file process and obtaining signed agreements.
- Starting the check-in process in Athena.
- Printing financial agreements or advanced beneficiary notices and obtaining patient signatures.
- Uploading outside patient imaging CDs into Medview PAC system.
- Preparing paperwork for the next day’s clinic.
- Scheduling follow-up appointments for patients.
- Completing end-of-day batches.
- Processing disability form payments as required.
- Scanning daily batches and forwarding documents for scanning to Patient Records.
- Ensuring clinics run smoothly by reporting issues to Zone Lead or Supervisor.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
