Goldfish Swim School - Cromwell is looking for a Front Desk Representative who promotes quality customer service and processes sales in a fun environment. This role involves greeting visitors, managing student registrations, and ensuring customer satisfaction while working in a lively setting.

Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work with children. Flexibility to take on additional roles such as lifeguard or Swim Instructor is also desired.

Qualifications

• No prior swim experience necessary, but a willingness to learn and have fun is a must.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• One year of previous customer service and/or administrative office experience.

Job Summary

Goldfish Swim School is seeking applicants for a Front Desk Representative at our location in Cromwell, CT.

The Front Desk Representative promotes quality customer service, processes sales and registrations, and is responsible for representing the company in a positive image as they will lead in growing Goldfish Swim School's member base.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greets visitors and checks students in on the computer system
• Discusses membership options with prospective families and registers new students
• Answers incoming phone calls and emails in a professional manner, directing inquiries and messages to the proper staff member
• Assists members with purchases of merchandise and vending
• Prepares student schedules for instructors and schedules private parties
• Resolves customer concerns/complaints using a professional approach and follow-up
• Provides occasional administrative support for management personnel, including the General Manager and Assistant General Manager
• Fulfills other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Employer
• Willingness and flexibility to work other positions within the school (such as but not limited to Swim Instructor and/or lifeguard):
  1. Provides swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum
  2. Enforces safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents. Makes rescues and administers first aid when necessary
  3. Evaluates students’ progress, and completes required paperwork in a timely manner
  4. Interacts with parents/guardians on the activities and development of students’ swim skills
  5. Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to ensure parental satisfaction
  6. Uses problem solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter
  7. Inspects pool areas before and after each class for possible maintenance, cleanliness or damage issues. Reports issues to management as appropriate
  8. Maintains and ensures proper storage of all pool equipment. Places and removes lane lines
  9. Reports accidents and incidents to management. Completes required documentation and paperwork
  10. Performs Deck Teacher duties as needed
  11. Performs light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, trash removal etc. on occasion
  12. Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours
  13. Fulfills other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Employer

Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older
• One year of previous customer service and/or administrative office experience
• Intermediate computer skills required with knowledge using Microsoft Office
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills

While performing this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
