Job summary

Gastro Health is seeking a Front Desk Representative to support our patient-first care centers. The role involves welcoming patients, managing front-desk workflows, and coordinating with physicians and staff to ensure accurate registration, insurance verification, and timely collection of balances.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in a medical setting, strong customer service and data entry skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced office environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in medical practice or a similar setting.
• Strong data entry and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a pleasant and timely manner.
• Utilize practice management system to create provider records, scan medical records & documents including active medical insurance cards, driver's license, or equivalent ID, and maintain insurance information.
• Verify registration forms are complete and obtain referring physician and primary physician information.
• Ensure the patient has a current referral on the date of service. Obtain referral if necessary.
• Verify insurance benefits and eligibility prior to office visits and procedures.
• Collect all applicable co-payment, coinsurance, deductible, or outstanding balances from the patient and post all payments collected.
• Ensure the time-of-service batch is balanced and closed daily.
• Research and assist patients with questions regarding balances including collecting applicable payments.
• Maintains cleanliness and neatness of lobby/reception area including stocking of business cards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Front Desk Representative interacts with patients daily, and they provide valuable administrative assistance to the physicians and care center providers.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to the following:
