Job summary

Evara Health is seeking a Front Desk Representative to serve as the welcoming first contact at our Pinellas Park center. You will handle patient registration, verify information, collect payments, and coordinate appointments with compassionate, HIPAA-conscious service.

This full-time on-site role supports Telehealth readiness, insurance processes, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and a positive patient experience across our community health network in Pinellas

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of Front Office experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients and guide them through registration using the AIDET model.
  • Respond to patient inquiries in person and by phone, building trust and promoting service culture.
  • Complete pre-registration and registration, documenting demographic, identification, financial, and insurance information in the EHR.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and precertification requirements; update patient records as needed.
  • Assist patients with Medicaid, Medicare, insurance affordability programs, and financial applications.
  • Explain financial responsibilities, establish payment arrangements, and collect point-of-service payments.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff on changes in insurance or financial status and patient needs.
  • Support Telehealth by confirming appointments and preparing patients for visits.

About This Role:

The Front Desk Representative / Patient Access Representative (PAR) serves as the initial point of contact for prospective and current patients at Evara Health. This position is crucial in facilitating a smooth and timely registration process, providing unparalleled customer service, collecting payments, and coordinating appointments to ensure efficient office operations and enhance the patient experience. The PAR helps patients navigate financial applications and options, ensuring access to necessary healthcare services.

What You’ll Do:
  • Patient Access & Customer Service
    • Serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing welcoming, individualized service and guiding patients through the registration process using the AIDET model.
    • Respond to patient inquiries in person and by phone, build trust with patients and caregivers, and promote Evara Health’s purpose-driven service culture.
  • Registration & Insurance Verification
    • Complete pre-registration and registration, accurately documenting demographic, identification, financial, and insurance information in the EHR.
    • Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and precertification requirements; communicate coverage requirements and update patient records as needed
  • Assist patients with Medicaid, Medicare, insurance affordability programs, financial applications, and payment options, including financial documentation and analysis.
  • Explain financial responsibilities, establish payment arrangements when appropriate, and collect point-of-service payments according to established procedures.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff and internal/external departments regarding changes in insurance or financial status, patient needs, and access-related concerns.
  • Support Telehealth services by confirming appointments, completing registration requirements, preparing patients for visits, and remaining available to assigned providers.
  • Compliance, Operations & Community Support
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation while following HIPAA, Evara Health, HRSA, regulatory, accreditation, safety, risk management, and security requirements.
    • Support team meetings, outreach and education efforts, front desk standards, patient-centered medical home quality measures, and a clean, organized work environment.

Required Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Minimum (1) year of experience as Front Office in a healthcare setting, preferred
  • Minimum (1) year of experience in customer service, preferred.
