Ada County Development Services is seeking a Front Desk Plans Examiner to review building plans and answer planning and zoning questions from the public. This role also creates and manages applications for Development Services and assists walk-in customers with a strong customer-service approach.
The position requires ICC Residential Plans Examiner certification within six months of hire and Residential Building Inspector certification within twelve months, plus knowledge of county and state
$32.00/Hour + DOE

Reviews building permit applications and building plans accepted for processing; answers building code and related zoning questions from the public and others; interprets and applies the adopted Ada County Building Code Ordinance. Performs building inspections when necessary.
The Front Desk Plans Examiner reviews and approves building plans for over-the-counter permits, including but not limited to remodels, additions, detached accessory structures, swimming pools, etc. The Front Desk Plans Examiner also creates zoning certificates, ensuring compliance with the dimensional standards for all proposed developments.
