Job summary

The Salvation Army in Dayton is seeking a part-time front desk associate for the Worship & Arts department. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and callers, handling sign-ins, memberships, and basic transactions with a friendly, helpful demeanor.

You will assist with program information, process payments, and support events on campus, collaborating with staff to ensure a welcoming atmosphere consistent with the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
• Cashier experience and money handling skills.
• Comfort with using a computer and basic software.
• Good communication skills over the phone and in person.
• Ability to work well in a team and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Greet members and guests as they enter the W&A building and provide guidance.
• Request guests sign in and follow procedures.
• Process financial transactions for memberships, fees, and snacks.
• Explain membership options and guide guests to the best plan.
• Answer incoming calls and route to the right person/department.
• Stock and provide forms, brochures, and program flyers as needed.
• Enter member data accurately into the membership system.
• Research membership questions using the current system.
• Check-in participants for programs and update accounts.
• Other duties as assigned by MSR Manager or Business Administrator.
