Valora Medical Group is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Receptionist to join our team in Florida. You will manage patient appointments, explain intake forms, and handle payments. When needed, you’ll provide back-office support as a Medical Assistant and help cover at other clinics.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a medical-specific role or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of medical and billing terminology recommended.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • E-Clinical Works experience strongly preferred.
  • Great time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills.
  • Innovative, motivated, organized, and team player.
  • Ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change.
  • Flexibility to work weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients, schedule appointments, and maintain records.
  • Manage all incoming calls and referral inquiries.
  • Register patients per established protocols.
  • Assist with insurance forms and billing information.
  • Ensure patient data accuracy, including billing details.
  • Explain office procedures and policies to patients.
  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled.
  • Collect co-pays and payments; report statistics as required.
  • Provide ad hoc support as Medical Assistant when needed.
  • Cover other clinics if short-staffed; mileage reimbursement may apply.

Job Summary:

A Medical Receptionist/Front Desk Receptionist , is responsible for interacting with guests in a healthcare setting and managing administrative tasks for the medical team. Their duties include scheduling patient appointments according to the Doctor’s availability, explaining intake forms to new patients, and processing payments after treatment.

This position will also support the back office as a Medical Assistant, when needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts
  • Manage all incoming phone calls and assist with referring inquiries.
  • Register patients according to established protocols
  • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance.
  • Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
  • Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • Maintain and manage patient records
  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled
  • Scheduled patient appointments
  • Collect co-pays and payments
  • Report statistics as required
  • Respond and comply to requests for information
  • Complete other clerical duties as assigned
  • Maintain stock of forms and office supplies
  • Ensure reception area is well maintained, neat and clean
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Assist with coverage at other clinics when needed due to being short-staffed. Mileage reimbursement will apply when covering at other clinic locations.
  • Step in as a Medical Assistant on a ad hoc basis to support business needs
  • Any additional duties assigned by management to support the clinic
Education/Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Medical Assistant, strongly preferred
  • 1+ years’ experience in a medical-specific role or healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of medical and billing terminology is strongly recommended
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
  • E-Clinical Works experience is strongly preferred
  • Great time management and organization skills
  • Excellent telephone and customer service skills
  • Innovative, motivated, organized, and team player
  • Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Must possess close attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new procedures and adapt quickly to change
  • Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule, with the ability to work on weekends when necessary (dependent on clinic location).
