Job summary

City of Muskogee is seeking a Fitness Attendant for the Muskogee Swim & Fitness Center. You will assist guests with proper use of equipment and participate in daily front-desk and membership-related tasks.

The role requires good customer service, safety awareness, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a busy fitness center environment. Certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid are required and basic fitness knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and six months of related experience.
• Preference will be given to those with college level training in Recreation, Health Promotion, Sports Management or other fitness related areas.
• Ability to effectively deal with customers and the public; enforce operating policies in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Assists recreation personnel in scheduling, supervision and upkeep of facilities and equipment, including opening or closing the facility.
• Operates telephone to answer, screen and forward calls and provide information as necessary.
• Monitors fitness center to ensure safe exercise atmosphere and provides instruction to patrons in proper use of equipment.
• Receives calls and visitors and arranges meetings, appointments and schedules.
• Maintains membership data entry and processes enrollments/ renewals for programs and class participation.
• Cleans and maintains fitness and weight room equipment; light cleaning of office and surrounding areas.
• Operates office equipment and uses computers for spreadsheets, word processing, and database management.
• Sweeps and mops floors; launders towels used to wipe equipment; reports equipment maintenance needs.
