POSITION SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Temporary Dental Assistant at 150 55th St, Brooklyn. This role involves variable morning and evening shifts, including Saturdays. The successful candidate will assist the dentist across various dental modalities (operatory, oral surgeon, endodontics, periodontics, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry). The role requires practicing four-handed dentistry, maintaining infection control standards, and adhering to OSHA guidelines and safety protocols. Responsibilities include exposing, developing, and mounting radiographs, preparing treatment rooms, ensuring patient comfort, sterilizing instruments, and documenting patient records in accordance with departmental policies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide chairside assistance to the dentist, utilizing proper four-handed dentistry procedures and sterile techniques.
• Ensure compliance with hospital, health center, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain infection control standards, uphold OSHA guidelines, and ensure safety at the assigned station.
• Take, expose, develop, and mount radiographs as applicable.
• Maintain an organized and clean dental operatory, ensuring availability of instruments and supplies.
• Ensure patient comfort while waiting for the dentist.
• Clean and prepare instruments for sterilization, and sterilize/disinfect following infection control guidelines.
• Document patient records accurately, assist in charting, and process forms and records.
• Pour and trim patient study models, completing laboratory forms accurately.
• Provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-related criteria relevant to the patients served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma and 1 year of chairside dental assisting experience.
