Erickson Senior Living's Tallgrass Creek community in Overland Park, Kansas is seeking a Communications Specialist (Front Desk) to greet residents, families, and visitors and set a welcoming tone.

You will handle inquiries, dispatch on-call staff, and keep accurate census and mail logistics, while enjoying benefits like health coverage, PTO, retirement plan, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct residents, visitors, and staff; answer questions and concerns efficiently.
  • Receive emergency calls and dispatch appropriate personnel; page on-call physicians as needed calmly.
  • Monitor emergency pull cords for Independent Living residents.
  • Track status of residents involved in incidents and assist with hospital transports as needed.
  • Manage resident lists alphabetically and by apartment; maintain census information.
  • Notify residents about package pick-ups and ensure mail is dispatched daily; sort inter-office mail.

Job description

Location: Tallgrass Creek by Erickson Senior Living

Join our team as a Communications Specialist (Front Desk), a crucial role within our community. As the first point of contact for residents, family members, and candidates, you'll set the tone for their experience and ensure a warm and welcoming environment.

Compensation: Starting at $16.00/hr, Commensurate with experience

Schedule: Saturday and Sunday from 3pm-8pm, Monday-Friday 3pm-8pm

How you will make an impact:
  • Greet and direct our residents, visitors, and staff, handle questions and concerns efficiently
  • Receive emergency calls from residents and staff and dispatch appropriate personnel; page on-call physicians as needed in an accurate and calm manner
  • Monitor all emergency pull cords for Independent Living residents
  • Track status of resident involved in a situation, i.e. transported to a hospital, etc.
  • Manage resident’s list, alphabetically and by resident apartment
  • Assist with maintaining accurate census information, hospitalizations, deaths, etc., and keeping an accurate list of residents who are away and returning
  • Responsible for logging all resident packages and notifying residents of a package pick-up via notice, assuring all mail is dispatched through U.S. Mail at the end of each day, sort and distributes all inter-office mail
