Scope of Position

The Front Desk Agent is responsible for a professional, yet personal and efficient check-in and check-out for each guest. They will process all payments according to the established resort policies and provide information to guests and visitors in person or via telephone. Additionally, the Front Desk Agent is expected to complete daily checklists and demonstrate professional courtesy at all times.

Position Requirements

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a AAA 4-Diamond Resort.
  • One (1) year experience in a hotel or resort front desk position.
  • Outstanding guest service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective listening, understanding, clarifying, and responding to guest concerns.
  • Experience with cash handling, including PCI Compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all guest and associate interactions professionally and personally.
  • Provide prompt, personal service during check-in and check-out.
  • Assist with billing and credit applications.
  • Resolve guest concerns to satisfaction, collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Maintain a high-quality, service-oriented environment.
  • Keep guest information and resort data confidential, ensuring security for high-profile guests.
  • Communicate promotions and resort enhancements effectively.
  • Build rapport with VIP guests, follow up, and seek feedback.
  • Handle special guest arrangements and coordinate future visits.
  • Maintain a database of guest preferences and special dates.
  • Participate in front desk training programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or degree in Hospitality or related field.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends.
  • Capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of PMS systems like Opera is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand continuously at a desk in front of a computer.
  • Walk, reach, and bend throughout shifts.
  • Lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
