Job Summary: The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for entering and managing the quote and order process for NEFCO’s customers. This is an entry-level position where associates will be responsible for training and learning the inside sales process at NEFCO.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving and processing requests from customers and outside sales via phone, email, fax, or website for quotes, product availability, and orders.
- Selling and servicing customers by providing pricing and product application information.
- Generating additional sales by identifying other products customers may need.
- Inputting all orders into the sales system promptly.
- Scheduling orders according to customer needs.
- Sourcing materials not in stock through interaction with the purchasing team.
- Communicating regularly with customers, sales reps, and managers.
- Keeping supervisors informed of customer issues.
- Providing promotional materials and product info upon request.
- Maintaining proficiency in product catalogs, Eclipse, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Participating in training on vendor platforms and marketing groups.
- Attending weekly sales meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with NEFCO’s ERP system, Eclipse, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity in work.
- Recent college graduates encouraged to apply; industry experience may substitute for a degree.
- 0-2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in construction supply sales.
Physical and other essential functions include:
- Keyboarding, verbal communication, document checking, climbing stairs, stretching, bending, and visual interpretation of computer images.
