Brady Martz seeks an AI Prototyping Engineer in Fargo, ND to turn early business ideas into working prototypes using AI-enabled tools. You will partner with business users and developers to define objectives, build AI-enabled features, and prepare prototypes for production with clear docs and version control.

The role emphasizes data privacy, security practices, and staying current with AI tools to improve speed and value. A strong portfolio of projects is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, data science, or equivalent; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Proven ability to turn ideas into working prototypes through coursework, internships, hackathons, side projects, or professional experience.
• Strong comfort using current AI development tools to create and refine working solutions, with judgment to recognize incomplete or unreliable output.
• Foundational software development skills; experience with TypeScript, React, Python or similar is preferred.
• Ability to work through ambiguity, changing requirements, unfamiliar tools, and communicate between business needs and development requirements.
• Portfolio or examples of working projects demonstrating ability to build and ship functional solutions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Turn early-stage business ideas and loosely defined concepts into working prototypes using AI-enabled development tools and rapid experimentation.
• Partner with business users, AI prototypers, and developers to clarify objectives and translate needs into functional solutions.
• Build and refine AI-enabled features, including prompt design, agent workflows, API integrations, and evaluating AI output quality and reliability.
• Package successful prototypes for handoff to the development team with clear structure, versioning, and documentation for production.
• Apply data privacy and security practices during prototyping to enable transition to live firm data and production environments.
• Use AI tools actively while reviewing, testing, and validating all generated output before reliance.
• Evaluate prototypes for limitations, edge cases, risks, and determine when to refine further or discontinue.
• Stay current with evolving AI tools and techniques and apply new capabilities to improve speed, quality, or business value.
