Job summary

Apogee Engineering seeks an AI Prototyping Engineer for Offutt AFB, NE. This full-time role focuses on applying AI to rapidly generate secure, testable software prototypes that inform product decisions and mission outcomes.

You will collaborate with PMs, designers, and subject-matter experts to craft practical demos and experiments. Candidates must hold US citizenship with TS/SCI eligibility and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline required.
• 15+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years supporting the DoD.
• US citizenship required.
• TS/SCI eligibility clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission requirements into rapid software concepts and prototypes.
• Use AI coding tools to generate, modify, test, deploy, and explain software.
• Build proof-of-concept web applications, internal tools, automations, dashboards, and integrations.
• Connect prototypes to APIs, databases, SaaS platforms, and data sources.
• Document prompts, decisions, assumptions, limitations, and follow-up recommendations.
• Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Present prototypes and findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
