HTC Automotive Repair in Boulder is seeking a strong automotive technician to lead our evening shift. You’ll diagnose and repair vehicles, direct the night crew, and support customer communication when advisors are unavailable.

Lead-technician or foreman experience is welcome, ASE certifications are a plus. You’ll build a reliable team, ensure quality-control, and leave clear handoffs for the next shift while developing the crew and workflow.

You’ve become the “go-to” guy for the shop when things don’t go according to plan. Are you ready to own it?

Someone from the next bay asks you to take a look. You ask what they’ve tested, help them find the next step, and get back to your own repair.

Your "diags" are accurate, you’re helping others, and noticing what needs to happen next. Maybe you’ve started leading a crew. Maybe it’s time your role caught up with the responsibility you’re ready to carry.

I’m Jake, owner of HTC Automotive in Boulder and Technician with over 17 years of experience. We’re looking for a strong automotive technician with the judgment and initiative to help build and lead our evening shift.

The shift you’ll help Build and Lead

3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. We’re recruiting the leader who will help establish the evening operation and develop the crew around it.

This is a night working-foreman position under the guidance of the shop foreman. You’ll diagnose and repair vehicles, direct the evening crew, and support customer communication; including handling it when advisor coverage is unavailable.

As staffing and workload allow, more of your time will move toward technician support, production coordination, quality control, and customer communication. You’ll still need to roll up your sleeves when the crew needs another skilled set of hands.

What leading the shift means

• Take on diagnostics and repairs that call for strong mechanical and electrical understanding.
• Help technicians understand the repair plan and work through problems.
• Coordinate work around approvals, parts readiness, technician skills, and realistic completion expectations.
• Check repair results and follow HTC’s quality-control and vehicle-release procedures.
• Handle customer questions, phones, repair explanations, and approvals when evening advisor coverage is unavailable.
• Leave a clear handoff for work continuing into the next shift.

Some nights, helping someone else get unstuck will matter as much as finishing your own job. You’ll need to recognize where your attention makes the biggest difference.

You’ll coordinate with the shop foreman, service advisors, and me. We’ll help you learn HTC’s processes and expectations. You bring technical expertise, initiative, strong “figure it out” muscles and the sense to seek assistance when a decision needs it.

What tells us you’re ready

• Strong hands-on automotive diagnostic and repair ability.
• Examples of helping other technicians, spotting problems, and taking responsibility for the work.
• The ability to explain a next step clearly, teach patiently, and address mistakes respectfully.
• Comfort talking with customers and explaining repairs appropriately.
• Confidence using digital repair orders, service information, and diagnostic equipment.
• Professional tools, reliable attendance, and willingness to work the evening schedule.

Lead-technician or foreman experience is most welcome. We’re also interested in someone ready for their first formal leadership role who can show us the skills and judgment behind that ambition. ASE certifications are greatly encouraged and are a plus.
