Food Lion is seeking a Front End Associate in South Carolina to provide fast, friendly service, greet customers by name, and support store operations. You will handle cashier duties, assist with bagging, and help maintain accurate cash control while keeping the front end neat and meeting service standards.

The role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment. Training will be provided, with emphasis on safety and courtesy.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload customers' groceries from cart to belt and group items for easy bagging.
• Check the bottom of every cart and under baby seats for items before completing an order.
• Follow correct bagging procedures for proper bag use and handling of different bag types.
• Scan customers' orders and handle payment transactions per standard practice.
• Follow procedures for refunds and error correction and maintain cash control.
• Identify customers needing assistance and offer to take their orders to their car.
• Keep front end area neat and clean and report any register malfunctions.
