Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a friendly Coffee Shop Barista to greet customers, craft beverages, keep the shop stocked and spotless, and ensure every guest leaves with a smile. You’ll take orders, help customers find products, and ensure accuracy at the register in a busy coffee shop.

This hourly role emphasizes strong communication, basic math, and teamwork. Prior hospitality experience is helpful but not required, with a supportive team and safety standards in place.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted
• Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform POS transactions

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and going the extra mile
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, assist with product questions
• Prepare and replenish coffee shop products during your shift
• Monitor product freshness and follow production lists to meet daily needs
• Handle food safely, keep the work area clean, and maintain department standards
• Operate the department register and process payments where applicable
• Maintain a tidy department and support teammates to ensure a positive customer experience
• Adhere to Hy-Vee dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
