Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a friendly Coffee Shop Barista to craft beverages, keep the coffee shop stocked and spotless, and ensure customers leave with a smile. You’ll greet customers, take orders, and work in a fast-paced store environment.

The role emphasizes team collaboration, attention to cleanliness, and excellent customer interaction. Training is provided, with an emphasis on safety and product quality.

Qualifications

• Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted.
• Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred.
• Able to stand and walk frequently during a shift.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one.
• Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist with finding products and answering questions.
• Prepare and replenish coffee shop products as needed throughout your shift.
• Monitor product freshness and appearance and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead of daily needs.
• Handle food safely and keep the work area clean, neat, and up to department standards at all times.
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
• Run the department register and process payments where applicable.
• Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
• Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer.
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
