Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in United States, Michigan, Lambertville, is seeking a friendly Cashier/Checker to greet customers, process transactions, and maintain accurate tills across the store floor.

You will operate the POS system, handle various tenders and loyalty offers, follow loss prevention guidelines, stay updated on ads, and help create a welcoming environment for all customers in a fast-paced setting.

• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction)

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage and assist customers.
• Process transactions quickly, accurately and efficiently.
• Handle various tenders per policy (Cash, Checks, Credit/Debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons).
• Understand cash-handling limits, loss prevention and integrity.
• Follow guidelines for restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow procedures for postage stamps, gift cards and coupons.
• Stay current with present and future ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions and notify management.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
• Adhere to laws and company guidelines.
• Work cooperatively in fast-paced environments.
• Manage conflicts calmly and professionally.
• Be honest with customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek help to resolve issues.
• Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
