Job summary

Hy-Vee is hiring for a Checker in Omaha, NE. You will operate the register, assist customers, and help ensure each visit ends on a positive note. No formal education is required; training is provided to enable you to perform sales, balance the till, and follow store guidelines.

You’ll work in a fast-paced retail environment, interact with customers, stock shelves, and support promotions while maintaining hygiene and safety standards throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• No formal education required; training provided.
• Ability to operate the register and process various payment types.
• Comfort with following instructions and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the register and across the store.
• Operate the cash register, accept payments and issue receipts.
• Count back change and handle refunds or credits as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local guidelines on tobacco, liquor, and related items.
• Stock, face and rotate merchandise and assist other store areas as needed.
• Maintain clean register area and report cash discrepancies.
