Job summary

ShopRite of Wallington in Wallington, NJ is hiring a Cashier to deliver a great customer experience at the front end, including accurate scanning, pricing, bagging, and handling payments. This role requires friendly service, efficiency, and adherence to safety and QA standards.

You will work with various products, assist customers, and maintain a clean, organized register area. The job includes standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and fulfilling scheduled shifts with reliability.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Able to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Able to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products and avoid allergic reactions.
• Able to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to interact with Customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Able to work all assigned schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work area.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Follow Department of Sanitation, QA standards and safety rules.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Understand operation of cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Identify and scan products accurately.
• Bag customer orders safely and efficiently.
• Adhere to Company shrink guidelines in Front-End operations.
• Wear the uniform and meet dress code requirements.
