Job summary

Amentum’s ESSCA Group seeks a skilled technician to maintain hydraulically powered friction stir welding systems at NASA facilities in the Huntsville area. You will diagnose failures, perform repairs, document actions, and coordinate spare parts while training others to operate the equipment.

The role requires strong understanding of hydraulics and control systems, plus the ability to work independently and in teams on complex maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with hydraulics, control systems, and electromechanical systems.
• Prior exposure to friction stir welding equipment preferred.
• Ability to plan maintenance and troubleshoot effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and control hydraulically powered friction stir welding machines.
• Diagnose failures, perform repairs, and document actions taken.
• Develop spare parts lists and procure replacements as needed.
• Train others to operate the machines and manage project tasks.
