Job summary

Michigan State University’s FRIB Laboratory is seeking a Project Controls Engineer II to manage project schedules and cost baselines. You will use Primavera P6 or MS Project to develop and maintain schedules, perform earned value management, and report status to project leadership.

Key responsibilities include cost control, contingency analysis, and leading project controls meetings. A four-year degree (engineering/science) and PMP certification are required, with experience in DOE-style project

Qualifications

Four-year degree in a scientific or engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
At least five years of experience with scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6).
PMI PMP Certification or equivalent.
DOE-SC project delivery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
Develop and maintain cost control processes and report on cost status for management.
Review schedule and cost performance for reporting and earned value tracking.
Provide ongoing cost engineering/planning guidance and monthly status reports.
Lead project controls meetings to review and update performance.
Perform other duties within scope as assigned.
