Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a minimum age of 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferable experience in supervision roles in athletics, recreation, education, or related fields.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with adults and students in a diverse environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student athletes
• Stay current with rules, coaching techniques, schemes, and best practices
• Monitor student-athletes to prevent accidents and injuries
• Place student-athletes in positions to succeed in sport and life
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with sports medicine staff, officials, and stakeholders
• Ensure safety measures and proper equipment use
• Attend all training sessions and staff meetings
• Work flexible hours including off-season training, mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays
• Verify student-athletes are eligible by PIAA and Reading School District policies
• Secure equipment and facilities after usage
• Communicate with RSD administration and youth groups to foster participation
• Be a good role model to student-athletes
• Support all RSD athletics programs
